All registered voters should have the right to vote in all taxpayer funded elections
Nevada denies independent voters the right to vote in our closed primary elections. That means the 1 million registered voters who are neither Republican or Democrat, many of them military veterans and first responders, are being denied an equal voice in elections their tax dollars pay for.
Question 3 will open our primaries to give all registered voters the right to vote in every election, regardless of political party registration.
The candidates finishing in the top five of the primary make it to the November election, where all voters will be allowed to rank candidates in order of preference. Needing majority support to win, candidates will have to focus on the issues of everyday people and not attacking their opponents, increasing civility in our campaigns and making them more accountable to the communities they serve.
